11:01 am - Good Old days

Comments:
Exactly. We can not claim to be the good guys.
The Bush administration has sold this county's soul.
Goddess - I saw an episode of "Boston Legal" about one of their staff who refused to pay her tax bill. Rather than just pay her fine she had her day in court, and there was a long speech by Allan Shaw about the outrages made by the current American Government Instrumentalities, like "weapons of mass destruction", Guantanimo bay and capture and shipping of suspects to countries that torture.
And so far as I know, it's all true.
But as I've recently become involved with Amnesty International, I'm more sensitive to this sort of thing. Anyone can be made to say or confess anything under torture and it should be obvious to the people doing the torture that all they succeed in doing by using torture, is achieving forced confirmation of their own biases and expectations.
Thanks for reminding me of this. |
